Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a major initiative to empower widowed and divorced women in rural areas:
🐄 Key Details:
- Free cattle (buffaloes/cows) for 11,000 women across 12 districts.
- Total value: Rs. 2 billion.
- First phase: 4,870 cattle distributed in:
→ Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Layyah, Kot Addu, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur.
📱 Eligibility & Access:
- For: Widowed/divorced women up to age 55.
- Apply via: Mobile app (home registration).
💬 CM Maryam’s Vision:
“We will close the poverty gap between cities and villages. Daughters in rural areas deserve economic opportunities too.”
Goal: Help women earn income through dairy farming and achieve financial independence.
