“Apple to Showcase ‘Liquid Glass’ Redesign with Transparent Visuals at WWDC, Reports Say”

Apple’s Big UI Change: “Liquid Glass” Coming Soon

Apple is preparing a major redesign for its user interface (UI) called “Liquid Glass.” According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the new design will feature shiny, see-through visuals that resemble glass. Apps, toolbars, and controls will have transparency and glow effects, giving them a sleek, modern look.

This isn’t just a small update—Apple rarely changes its UI so dramatically. The last big shift was with iOS 7 in 2013, when Apple moved away from realistic designs (like fake leather and wood textures) to the simpler, flatter style we see today.

Gurman suggests the “Liquid Glass” redesign might launch next year, just in time for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary. A special iPhone model could be released with curved glass edges, ultra-thin bezels, and no screen cutouts (like the notch or Dynamic Island), matching the new design style.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Apple refreshing its UI. Some rumors say the new look will be inspired by the Apple Vision Pro’s interface. The goal is to make all Apple devices—iPhones, Macs, iPads, Apple Watches, and Apple TV—look more consistent. That way, switching between devices (like from an iPhone to a Vision Pro) won’t feel as jarring.

The “Liquid Glass” design is expected to arrive with iOS 18 (or possibly iOS 26, as some reports say), macOS, watchOS, iPadOS, and tvOS. Apple will likely unveil it at WWDC 2025, which starts on June 9 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.

Stay tuned for more updates!
